Dear customers and friends of HelloFreshGO,

These are unprecedented times, that has taken us all by surprise with unexpected challenges and a brand new reality to prepare for, even as things start returning to normalcy. As MD and CEO of HelloFreshGo, I am writing to share with you updates on how we are dealing with COVID-19 (corona virus) situation, and the steps we have proactively taken as an essential food services provider in Germany. 

First and foremost the health of everyone, is of the highest priority. I personally and on behalf of  HelloFreshGO – thank all the doctors, nurses and people working in the healthcare sector for keeping us all safe even under the hardest conditions.

Second, we are here for you, operating as normal and have even extended our product portfolio to meet your needs. Many businesses including hospitals, emergency services and companies unable to deploy their full workforce to work from home, depend on us every day for fresh, healthy and hygienic food. This is a responsibility that we as an organization take very seriously and I want to assure the acute awareness, we have of the importance of our service for our customers during these times.

In addition to implementing extreme measures externally for the health and safety of our customers, we are also internally doing everything to see to the health and safety of our employees, partners and delivery drivers. 

Even Higher Hygiene & Quality Standards

The good news is that, when it comes to our practices and supply chain processes, we have always been compliant on the best health and hygiene standards. The meals are prepared and packed with utmost care and we strictly follow the european and german rules regarding food safety. Additionally we have adopted all recommendations from RKI in terms of the current situation. 

Availability for Businesses in Need or Operating from Offices

During the Corona crisis, while many of our employees switched to work from home, our operations at HelloFreshGO continues to work vigorously to deliver on our mission of fresh & healthy food in the workplace, especially to those who need it most at the moment, like hospitals (e.g. Charite), emergency services and employees who don’t have the luxury to work from home. We also introduced weekend delivery service, in an effort to offer more flexibility and round-the-clock service. 

New Products Introduced to Meet Your Demands

Based on the needs of our customers, we launched HelloFreshGO Box, a catering-box solution for offices from HelloFreshGO. The pre-paid box with lunch, salads, wraps, bagels and breakfast selection was developed rapidly as a short-term solution for all companies, who are unable to use the Smart Fridge service and would like to cater to a smaller group of employees. 

HelloFreshGO Gave Back to The Community

In the past few weeks, HelloFreshGO has donated food worth over 50,000 euros to charitable and critical institutions, including Tafel in Stuttgart, Hamburg and Frankfurt. In Berlin, we were able to support the Bethel Hospital, the Berliner Engeln and Charité, and in Munich we were able to support LMU Klinikum.

Our sales and customer service teams make every effort to respond to all incoming questions, as quickly as possible. Lastly, I want to say that while every crisis comes with a set of challenges, it also comes with hidden opportunities. During this time, we have put customers at the core of our efforts even more and acted in an agile way on changing needs. The newly introduced HelloFreshGO Box is a result of us closely listening to our customers and understanding their needs. During  this crisis, we all learned that availability is another key component that we will continue to work on. Esp. our weekend delivery service will be expanded to provide 24/7 availability everywhere.

As COVID-19 pushes us to embrace the new reality and  the way we all organize our lives, I am committed to support our customers and onlookers of our HelloFreshGO community, in every way we can. You can count on me, as we work through this unusual situation together.
