We have some insightful news to share with you today! As of 1st of June 2022, HelloFreshGO GmbH is officially acquired by Convini Sverige AB, the Swedish market-leading provider for food catering at the workplace.
The acquisition means that from today, HelloFreshGO is part of the Convini family with their 25 years of experience in the industry. This move will enable HelloFreshGO to provide an even better food experience to its customers, particularly thanks to Convini’s team of 200+ experts and their impeccable track record with customer service.
As a newly acquired company, HelloFreshGO’s priority now will be to ensure that its services continue to be provided as smoothly as possible, while they perform optimization on the internal systems over the following months. Also, for the coming months, the brand, products, fridges and anything related to HelloFreshGO will stay mostly the same but will eventually be fully integrated with Convini’s successful systems.

Convini is one of Europe’s leading providers of smart food and coffee solutions for the workplace. Their goal is to help people feel good and perform better at work. Anders Enqvist founded Convini in 1995 and today has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and, since 2019, also in Berlin.
Their stores and coffee machines are in 4,500 customer companies, and they have improved the working day of hundreds of thousands of consumers, every day. With over 1800 smart stores, they are the largest in Europe. The Convini Group is owned by the Enqvist family and AB Max Sievert. Convini employs over 200 employees.
Convini has been speeding up its German expansion since 2019 when it acquired the startup ‘How I Like’.
Now, with the acquisition of HelloFreshGO, the largest competitor in Germany, Convini’s international expansion strategy is fully taking place. With this latest addition, Convini will grow from 100+ catering units in Berlin to over 300 units across much of Germany, with an initial focus on Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin and Berlin surroundings.
“Germany is a strategic market for us and the acquisition of HelloFreshGO is an important part of our expansion plans. This is an important step for our further establishment in Germany and we are very proud and happy to announce this deal,” says Mats Palmquist, CEO of Convini.
Because of the pandemic, a structural change is currently taking place in the world of work and the convenience sector has great potential for development in Germany, especially in the workplace. Perceptions and the importance of a pleasant working environment are strengthening, and food and beverages are becoming an increasingly important component.“
Our vision is to help even more people in the German labor market feel good and perform better, and also to enable more and more German employers to increase the efficiency and well-being of their employees,” concludes Mats Palmquist.
The acquisition is in line with the strategic plan decided in 2018 to make Convini a leading provider in Europe. “It feels good to have a successful Swedish family-owned company take over the business we have built. I am very much looking forward to following Convini’s development and especially how it will affect our consumption patterns, how we eat and drink at work in Germany.”, says Markus Schneider, ex-CEO of HelloFreshGO.
